Wern-y-Cwm Farm (pronounced wern-e-cum, Welsh for Valley of Alder trees) sits on the Skirrid Mountain at the easternmost tip of the Brecon Beacon National Park.  From the 16th to 20th centuries the area, which is bordered by Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, was sometimes English but is currently proudly Welsh. Monmouthshire offers a wild landscape, rich history and exceptional local provenance. Despite being an easy journey from much of the UK, this stunning location is still a well kept secret.
