Welcoming Gina & Bella: Miniature Donkeys Meet Wellness at Wern y Cwm Farm

Enjoying Wonderful Escapes at Wern y Cwm Farm is about more than just yoga and meditation. While these are an essential part of many of the wellness retreats held here, the bigger picture is that we invite our guests to reconnect with nature, creativity, animals, and themselves. This season, we’re thrilled that our family has grown with the arrival of two very special residents: Gina and Bella, our beautiful Mediterranean Miniature Donkey foals.

Animals have a remarkable ability to soothe the human spirit. Many people find that spending time with gentle creatures can lower stress levels, reduce anxiety, and lift their mood. Our miniature donkeys, with their sweet temperaments and affectionate nature, are perfect companions for mindful living.

Gina and Bella embody this spirit; curious, gentle, and always ready for a cuddle. They’ll happily sit with you while you relax quietly beside them, enjoy a scratch behind the ears, and gently nuzzle you with their soft little faces. 

You’ll find Gina and Bella in the paddock right beside the Wern-y-Wellness Garden, a space designed for reflection, relaxation, and now… donkey therapy! Imagine finishing a yoga session in the garden, then strolling over to greet the girls. Their calming presence invites you to embrace the simple pleasures of life. In many ways, they remind us what wellness truly means - grounding ourselves in the moment, finding joy in connection, and nurturing both body and soul.
